Puretec HD Series Standard Filter Housing, 2.5 inch

The Puretec HD Series is the standard 2.5 inch diameter filter housing. It takes slimline cartridges and suits point of use work: under a sink, on a single outlet, or anywhere the flow demand is modest.

No cartridge is included

A housing is an empty vessel. It does not filter anything on its own and no cartridge is supplied with it. You choose the cartridge separately to suit your water and the job you want done, which is the point: the same housing runs sediment, carbon or scale prevention depending on what you put in it.

HD or LD? HD is the 2.5 inch standard housing. If you are filtering a whole house you almost certainly want the LD large diameter range instead, which takes 4.5 inch jumbo cartridges, passes far more flow and holds far more dirt before it blocks. HD is the right choice for a single tap or a small system.

10 inch or 20 inch is the cartridge length. A 20 inch holds twice the media and runs roughly twice as long between changes.

Housing or kit? A kit adds the mounting bracket and the housing wrench. Buy the kit unless you already own both, because you cannot open the housing to change a cartridge without the wrench.

Connection size is the inlet and outlet thread. Match it to your pipework rather than reducing down, or you throttle the flow the housing was built to pass.
