The small print
The Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 (CGA) gives you rights that override anything in this policy that says otherwise. In short, the goods we sell must be of acceptable quality, fit for the purpose they were sold for, and match the description and any samples shown. If they fall short, you have the right to a repair, replacement, or refund, depending on the nature of the problem.
If you bought for business use, the parties have agreed the CGA does not apply to the extent allowed under section 43 of the Act. Trade customers, your standard manufacturer and supplier warranties still apply.
Most ranges we sell carry a 1 year warranty as a baseline. Some ranges (premium Davey, certain Puretec systems) carry longer cover. The specific warranty is listed on each product page. Warranty cover is on top of your CGA rights, not a replacement for them.
DIY installs: Where you fit the product yourself, warranty cover is conditional on the install following documented install guide and any manufacturer instructions. Damage caused by incorrect install, freezing, dry running a pump, voltage spikes without surge protection, or contaminated water is not covered by the warranty. CGA rights still apply where the product itself is at fault.
Found a fault? Here is how to get it sorted:
- Email contact@pumpstuff.co.nz or call 07 863 8064 with your order number, a description of the fault, and a photo or short video if possible.
- We will assess and come back to you within 2 working days.
- If the product needs to come back to us for assessment, we will send a return label. Freight will be charged for n
- Once we have the product, we assess it (sometimes with the supplier). Repair, replacement, or refund follows under the CGA.
We do the legwork with the supplier and the freight company on your behalf. You should not be chasing a manufacturer in another country.
If your order arrives damaged, take photos of the packaging and the damage, and contact us within 48 hours of delivery. Replacement or refund follows fast once we have the photos.
You have 14 days from the date you receive the goods to ask for a change of mind refund. To qualify:
- The product must be unused, unfitted, and in its original packaging.
- You pay the return freight, and we recommend tracked freight (we are not responsible for items lost in transit on the way back).
- Once we receive the goods and confirm they are in resaleable condition, we refund the purchase price (minus any original outbound or inbound freight you paid).
Change of mind cover is a goodwill policy on top of your statutory rights. It does not apply to the items listed below.
Refunds are processed within 3 working days of us receiving and inspecting the returned goods (or confirming the claim where return is not required). The refund hits your card or account within 3 to 5 working days after that, depending on your bank.
Trade customers, returns are handled through your account contact. Standard supplier warranties apply. Credit notes are issued to the account in place of card refunds unless agreed otherwise.
