Large Diameter is 4.5 inch and takes far more flow and far more dirt before it blocks, which is why whole house systems use it. The 10 inch or 20 inch is the length. Your housing decides this, so measure the old cartridge or read the housing label before ordering. Note that Puretec's Basic large diameter cartridges are coded LD, and the Premium ones MP.
