The extra cost of an LD housing is paid back in cartridges within a year on most supplies, and the shower pressure will thank you.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e10 inch or 20 inch\u003c\/strong\u003e is the cartridge length. Twenty inch holds twice the media and runs about twice as long. On tank, bore or creek water, go 20 inch.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eHousing or kit?\u003c\/strong\u003e A kit adds the mounting bracket and the housing wrench. Buy the kit unless you already own both, because a large diameter housing cannot be opened by hand.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eConnection size,\u003c\/strong\u003e 1 inch or 1 1\/2 inch, is the inlet and outlet thread. Match it to your pipework. Reducing a 1 1\/2 inch main down to a 1 inch housing throws away the flow you paid for.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThese take the LD and MP coded cartridges.
